Social Security Disability

Etowah County Social Security Disability Attorneys

Given a choice, everyone would gladly take their health and a career over the exhausting challenge of battling a disability.  However, many people in Alabama are not given a choice.  At the Gadsden law firm of Allenstein & Allenstein, LLC, we help injured workers get all the disability benefits they deserve through Social Security disability insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits.

Working With You to Find Solutions

If you are unable to work forty hours a week or eight hours a day because of your disability, you may qualify for Social Security disability or SSI benefits.  Disability payments can be based on both physical and psychological factors, such as depression, anxiety, or other kinds of pain.

Whatever your disability may be, you want an attorney who will help you obtain proper medical and psychological evaluations, so that the Social Security Administration understands the full extent of your impairment.  We are willing to spend the time and money in an effort to assure your case is properly evaluated.  We will help you prepare every aspect of your social security disability claim to make sure you get the full extent of benefits.  For additional discussion about SSDI, please see our blog.

SSDI Administrative Process

You can apply for SSDI or SSI benefits online or at your local Social Security office. It is important to file as soon as you realize you will be unable to work full-time for a period of at least 12 months.  If you receive a denial letter, contact us immediately for an appointment so we can evaluate your claim.  You must file the appeal within 60 days of the date you received your denial letter.

If your initial application for social security disability is denied, you still have legal options.  In fact, many people receiving SSDI or SSI had their initial claims rejected.  If you lose at the administrative level, we can handle your appeal.

With so many steps to help you receive benefits, it is important to keep fighting until your disability is recognized.  We handle all our cases on a contingency basis, so you do not pay a dime until we collect for you.  After victory, legal fees are limited to twenty-five percent of your back benefits and expenses incurred on your behalf in gathering evidence to prove your case.
